BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT! Introducing the IndieInk Photo Battle!
Your Faithful Editors here at IndieInk are very excited to announce what we’ve been doing behind the scenes in addition to providing and managing the Writing Challenge. We’ve been doing things that are behind the scenes behind the scenes. It’s like some Inception shit that’s been going on back here.
Can I get a drumroll? We’re proud of this and pants-peeingly excited.
We, as of today, are launching the IndieInk artist’s version of our esteemed IndieInk Writing Challenge: the IndieInk Photo Battle!
The IndieInk Photo Battle is our new weekly feature that publishes your photographic challenge responses, which will be inspired by random prompts from other photographers who sign up for the Photo Battle. Everything we do for the II WC is now also going to apply to our Photo Battle: you sign-up (providing your prompt/challenge for your randomly selected “Challengee,” sign-up closes, we randomly pair you up with another participant who provides you your own challenge for the week, and the challenge you issued at sign-up is randomly assigned to another participant. We’re challenging AND being challenged. See? Mind. Exploding.
Then we battle. A friendly battle, but it’s a battle nonetheless. Our goal is to motivate, challenge, and help you be the best photographer you can be. Our motto is cheesy, but simple: COMPOSITION, NOT COMPETITION. The idea here is not to compete with others to be the best, the idea is to challenge yourself to do your best. And, most important, to have fun and grow a community.
You can read all the shiny details and rules here, read some of our FAQs, see some examples if you’re curious and mingle with your fellow participants/peers, talk about the IIPB generally here and most important, sign-up here (at the end of the page). Sign-up for the very first II Photo Battle (IIPB, as mentioned) is now live and registration for next week’s Battle will close Friday night at 9pm EST, but don’t wait! Sign up now and let’s get this party started! Tell your friends, your followers. Let’s do this, artists!
